Douglas Eckbloom
1978-11-20Doug was in a couple of my classes at JHS and was always a great guy and fun to have in class. I really got to know him, however, when he was a detective for the JPD and worked on cases with my late husband, Paul King (who was District Attorney at the time). We saw each other socially during that time period. When my husband died, Doug was a close friend and he and his wife (Darlene) helped me through some rough days. His death at such a young age certainly was a tragedy. I miss him still.
tribute by Margaret (Snyder) ScorseOne of my very dear friends! We all lost a good pal ,way to soon!!Peace be with you dear Doug!
tribute by Jackie Everett CastoDoug, I knew you best from our two years of confirmation classes at First Covenant Church. I still can't believe that we both made it through !!But mostly I was so saddened about your young quick death. You were helping me so much to find lost classmates for our 15th reunion. I have missed our frequent phone calls back then. I never got to thank you for all your help and enthusiasm.....I thank you now ! May God Bless you !
tribute by Jackie JacksonDoug was a friend from the neighborhood from the very early days at Charles Street School. Many are familiar with his sense of humor and his sense of adventure. Underneath the class clown behavior was a very nice guy. He had a good start on a career in law enforcement before the tragic auto accident took his life. Jamestown is poorer for losing him at such an early age.
