Joseph Mula

A native of Jamestown, he was born July 27, 1945, the son of the late Peter and Antoinette ''Lena'' Sieta Mula.

He had been employed by the former Chautauqua Hardware Co. for 35 years, retiring as a foreman in 2002, due to ill health.



He was a 1963 graduate of Jamestown High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Germany from 1963 to 1966. He was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church, a member of American Legion of Albany Post 0001 and past president of International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers Local 2105.



He was loved by his niece and nephews and will be sadly missed by Rose and Don Barr, with whom he made his home. He loved his garden, fishing, golfing and was a dedicated fan of the New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills.



He is survived by two daughters: Judy Valent of Tonawanda and Debbie Schryver of Rochester; a granddaughter, Jenna Schryver of Rochester; and two sisters: Rose Marie Rounds and Grace D'Angelo, both of Jamestown.



He was preceded in death by his father on Sept. 5, 1998; and his mother on July 4, 1994.



A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in the St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Robert Stolinski, parochial vicar at St. James Catholic Church, will be celebrant. Burial will be in the Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.



Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home.

One more thing Joe. I never did get you to come to one of our reunions. You know how hard I tried ! Please for me watch over our reunion now !

Joe Joe what can I say ! I really did not know you when we were in HS. But our paths crossed several years later when you became ill. Only you and I know what those times meant to us. You called me your Angel and gave me a figurine of an Angel that I cherish. I think that you are now my Angel !
