Dennis Samuelson, 68, of Omaha, Neb., died on April 28, 2013, peacefully at home, as was his wish.
Dennis was born in Jamestown, N.Y., on June 25, 1945, the son of Ralph F. Samuelson and Elizabeth Graham Samuelson. He graduated from Jamestown High School in 1963 and attended Jamestown Community College.
Prior to his retirement in 2007, he worked for the Nash-Finch Company in Appleton, Wis., and Omaha, Neb. He previously worked for Tops Market in New York and Pennsylvania.
He was a past master of Union Lodge No. 334, Bradford, Pa., treasurer of the Orak Grotto, Bradford, Pa., a 32nd Degree member of the Scottish Rite, Omaha, Neb., past worshipful master of the Rose Croix, Omaha, Neb., past master of the Knights of St. Andrew, Omaha, Neb., and past president of the Mobile Nobles at the Tangier Shrine, Omaha, Neb.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Kathleen Carr Samuelson of Omaha; a daughter, Teresa Van Hout (Chuck Lewicki) of Brocton; and a son Eric (Gary Ritter) Samuelson of Mechanicsburg, Pa. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Joshua (Christina Hilburger) Van Hout of Mechanicsburg, Pa., Zach Van Hout of Tampa, Fla., and Nathaniel and Abigail Van Hout of Brocton; and a brother, Brian Samuelson of Jamestown.
A memorial will be held on June 2, 2013, at the Scottish Rite of Omaha. Memorials may be made to the Scottish Rite of Omaha, 202 S. 20th St., Omaha, NE 68102, for help in preserving the historic building.
