Daniel S. Orlando joined the Lord's tree of eternal life on Nov. 7, 2015. He was born on Oct. 11, 1944, the son of the late Joesph

and Nancy Orlando. He graduated from Jamestown High School in 1963. He also joined the United States Air Force in 1965, serving his country.

Dan was a precision tool and die maker at MRC Bearings, retiring after 37 years of service. Dan was an avid golfer. His passion for golf grew from age 12 where he caddied at Moon Brook Country club. He was a member of the MRC and McDonald's senior tour golf leagues. He was a member of Maple Hurst and Cable Hollow country clubs. He achieved his first hole in one at South Hills Country Club.



He ended his love of golf in the Orlando Brother's Invitational tournament, which he won in 2014 along with being named MVP.



He was a member of the Ellington Rod & Gun Club, Samuel Derby Post, American Legion and Jamestown Moose Club. Dan was an outdoor sportsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, motorcycling and four-wheeling. He loved and enjoyed many vacations over the years, cruises in particular. He loved carpentry and remodeling, taking on various projects over the years. He built and designed his camp in 1986. He loved doing his own work. Dan enjoyed and was proud of his garden, known as "Papas Garden." His faithful companions were always by his side: Maddie, Penny, Grace and Anna.



He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy, with whom he celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 28, 2015; his three sons: Daniel (Debbie) Orlando of Jamestown, Phillip (Marilyn) Orlando of Jamestown, Brian (Colleen) Orlando of Lakewood; his loving grandchildren whom he adored: Dominique, Danielle Orlando, Amy Garris, Lauren Wakelee, Joey Orlando, Breah, Brittin, and Braedon and Brynn Orlando; his brother: Steve (Jody) Orlando of Sebring Fla.; Kathy Gudz of Charlotte, N.C. and Nancy Jo (Gary) Bell of Norfolk, Va.; his in-laws: Nick and Carol Ingrao; and his favorite nephew, Matthew Lindahl.



Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m., Friday, in the Falconer Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 14, 2015, at St. Johns Catholic Church. Burial will be at Allen Cemetery, Willard Street Ext., Jamestown, N.Y.



In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials made in his name to the Ellington Rod & Gun Club, the Ellington Fire Department or a charity of one's choice.
