Gary was a great friend and so was his wife Ann Marie Illig! I was fortunate to call them both my friends and classmates! Peace be with Ann and the entire family! I am so thankful that I got to see them both at our 50th! R.I.P. Gary!  Jackie Everett Casto

How lucky all of us were to have had Gary in our class and in our lives. He was always smiling and always up to something. That's what made him so great. He spent a lot of time being grounded by his "tyrannical" parents who I think probably knew their car would exit their garage sometime after 11pm every Friday and Saturday night. Their car had a cow horn that actually went "moo" and he of course loved that. So did I !!!!  I would sneak out of my house and run over Gary's and we would push the car out of the driveway and down the street and then start it. At the bottom of Lakeview Avenue there was farm and open fields and cows would be grazing and thought it would be fun to sound the cow horn and aggravate the cows......what geniuses !!! We did it one two many times and the farmer found out who was disturbing his cows and he chased us. We were in big trouble with our parents but teenagers are generally not bothered by such matters. Gary was grounded for the zillionth time and I got tired of the restrictive 4 walls in my room. I'm sure we all have great Gary stories to tell. The best story is that he was in our lives and how blessed we were to have been part of his. Ann and Gary were lucky to have had each other for more than half of their lives. God speed to Ann and her family. She's pretty special in her own right. Were Gary's parents tyrannical? No.....just patient and understanding like the rest of our parents were.......after all we are The Class of 63 !,

Gary was a great guy with his  big grin and jovial personality. He and I were two of  "The Lakeview Five" who  (in a moment of poor judgment!) got picked up by the cops for littering beer cans on Lakeview Avenue. I am grateful that Gary and his classmate wife Ann Illig White attended our 50th Reunion before he began his two year battle with cancer.Rest in Peace.
