A lifelong area resident, she was born July 3, 1945, Jamestown, N.Y., a daughter of the late Magnus “Mack” and Doris Russell Beckstrom.

Sally was a 1963 graduate of Jamestown High School.

Before her retirement in 2001, she was a senior account clerk for the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities. In earlier years, she had worked for the City of Jamestown Welfare Department and the Marlin Rockwell Corporation.

She was a longtime member of the Allen Park Women’s Club, where she served as secretary and treasurer for several years. She was also a volunteer for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program and the Big Brother-Big Sister Program. She loved being a big sister to Sheila Harper, with whom she spent many happy times together.

Surviving is her longtime companion, Roger Heeter, with whom she made her home’ and a brother, Mack Beckstrom of Las Vegas, Nev.;, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Barbara Beckstrom Johnson and Jacklyn Beckstrom Horn.

A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation will not be observed. Inurnment will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
