Duane Marshall Anderson, 75, of Daytona Beach, Fla., passed away Sept. 20, 2021, in his home.




He was born Nov. 7, 1945, in Jamestown General Hospital, to the late Milton and Eva (Purdy) Anderson.



Duane was a graduate of the class of 1963 at James-town High School. Upon graduation he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. During his years in the Marines he was deployed to Okinawa for 18 months. Upon his discharge, he started working at Rane Tool Co. in Jamestown until it closed. He then started working at Barr Tool and Die. Duane then moved to Colorado, Oregon, and settled in Idaho. In Idaho, he started his own business Anderson Mold which he ran for many years until he retired due to health problems. He moved to Florida in 2014.



Duane is survived by his wife, Christina (Gaines) Anderson of Daytona Beach, Fla., whom he married on April 4, 2000; a son, Kurt (Rachael) Anderson of Dover, Pa.; three grandsons: Garrett (Jai) Anderson of Utah, Liam and Sawyer Anderson of Dover, Pa.; a sister, Wanda (Martin) McKotch of Jamestown, N.Y.; two nieces: Brenda (James) Lemke, of Stockton, N.Y., and Christine (Jeffrey) Peterson of Jamestown, N.Y.; three great-nephews Corey and Chad Peterson, Ryan Lemke; and a great- niece, Rachel Lemke. Also surviving are a stepbrother, Gary (Marge) Gustafson of Lakewood, N.Y.; a step brother-in-law, Wallace Ostrom of Austin, Texas; step- nieces, step-great-nieces and nephews; a step-daughter, Cassandra Gaines of Daytona Beach, Fla.; and his ex-wife, Rosemary (Edd) Hansen of Baltimore, Md.



He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother Mildred (Gustafson) Anderson; stepsister, Kathleen (Gustafson) Ostrom; a niece, Christine Gustafson; and a nephew, Matthew Gustafson.



There will be no funeral service and his ashes will be buried at sea.
