Prudence (Prudy) Elizabeth Dunn of Denham Springs, La., died peacefully on Oct, 15, 2021, of heath complications.




She was originally from Jamestown, N.Y., and was born on March 8, 1945, to Annette and Fred Dunn and had four siblings: sister, Antoinette (Toni) Johnson (Charlestown, S.C.), sister, Terrance Weaver (deceased), sister, Fredericka Dunn (Alexandria, Va.), and brother, Fred Dunn (Tenneaaee).



She is survived by her two sons,:Pierson Jones III of Denham Springs, La.; and Jason Jones of Seminole, Fla.; plus, a daughter-in-law, Apin Lom of Seminole, Fla.; granddaughter, Casey Jones of Denham Springs, La,; and two great-grandchildren: Colby and Madison.



Prudy attended Andrews School for Girls and graduated in 1963. She moved shortly after her graduation to Silver Spring, Md., in 1964. She was married to Pierson Jones, Jr. and they lived in Annapolis, Md. After their divorce she married Thomas Steele and lived on Kent Island, Md., for approximately 10 years. Overall, Prudy was a resident of Maryland, for approximately 48 years before moving to Louisiana, to live with her granddaughter and her children.



Prudy was a phenomenal seamstress and loved gardening, but she was best known for her big heart, kindness, laughter, and the joy she brought to her family and friends. There was never a dull moment when Prudy was near as she had the best sense of humor and shined brightly in whatever room she entered. This special person will be dearly missed by all and the memories of the fun times with Prudy will always be cherished.



No scheduled celebration of Life service will be held at this time.
